The Open University in Wales

The Open University in Wales is the leading provider of part-time undergraduate higher education and supported distance learning across Wales. Every year we help thousands of ordinary people achieve extraordinary things.

About the University

The Open University has over 173,000 students studying with us directly or through our partners, studying nearly 400 modules across a range of subject areas. The university operates across all four nations of the UK and internationally, with around 20,000 of our students living outside the UK.

The Open University uses distance learning to offer flexible courses to anyone who wants to benefit from it whether you live in the UK or elsewhere. This flexible approach suits the needs of individuals and employers. Courses range from short online modules to the MBA and other master degrees.

The Open University Business School is the world’s largest MBA provider with triple accreditation (AACSB, EQUIS, AMBA).

The Open University also offers a range of courses for free through our online learning platforms OpenLearn and OpenLearn Cymru.

A vast majority of Open University students are in employment while they study with us and many are sponsored by their employer. Wherever you are in the world you may be able to study directly with the Open University or through one of our educational partners.
