"Choosing to study abroad is a life-changing decision, and for me, it came with excitement, hope, and a little nervousness. I wanted to study in a country where I would feel safe, supported, and welcomed as an international student. After careful research, I chose Wales and the University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD), and this decision has truly shaped my academic and personal journey.
From the moment I arrived in Swansea, I felt a sense of calm and belonging. The city is peaceful and beautiful, surrounded by nature, with beaches and parks that help me relax and stay focused. The people in Wales are incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made settling into a new country much easier. This supportive environment has helped me grow in confidence and feel comfortable in my daily life.
Academically, my Master’s degree in Cyber Security and Digital Forensics at UWTSD has been a very rewarding experience. What I enjoy most about the programme is its strong practical focus. We work in real cybersecurity labs, take part in hands-on digital forensics activities, and learn through practical case studies based on real-world scenarios. This approach has helped me develop valuable technical skills and feel more prepared for my future career. The lecturers are knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely care about student success, creating a positive and motivating learning environment and a strong relationship between staff and students.
The enrolment process at UWTSD was smooth and stress-free, which made a huge difference for me as an international student. The academic support available throughout my studies has been excellent, and I always feel encouraged to ask questions and explore new ideas. One of the most memorable experiences during my time at UWTSD was a one-week student mobility programme in Paris. During this trip, I visited ISEP and CESI University, attended workshops, explored cybersecurity labs, and gained insight into how cybersecurity is taught in another country. This experience broadened my perspective and strengthened my interest in digital forensics.
Studying in Wales has helped me grow not only academically, but also personally. I have become more confident, independent, and focused on my goals. Living in Swansea has allowed me to balance my studies with a relaxed lifestyle, helping me stay motivated and focused. UWTSD has given me the knowledge, support, and opportunities I need for my future career in Cyber Security and Digital Forensics, and I am proud to share my journey as an international student in Wales."
