Learn more about Chevening applications!

Chevening is the UK Government’s global scholarship programme, offering future leaders a unique opportunity to study in the UK. As part of the UK, Wales has agreed a new scheme which is funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and Universities Wales.

These scholarships are open to students from Vietnam and India, and offer the chance of fully funded postgraduate study at any Welsh university. Chevening scholars can focus on achieving their academic goals while enjoying the experience of a lifetime.

Successful applicants will live and study in Wales for a year. It’s an unrivalled chance to develop professionally, academically, and personally, to grow your network, experience Welsh culture and build a lasting relationship with Wales and the UK.

You can study a one-year taught Masters degree in any subject at any participating university in Wales. Applications open on 12 September and close on 7 November 2023.

Chevening scholarships offer the chance for future leaders to develop in highly respected universities across Wales.

To apply for a Chevening Global Wales scholarship, you need to:

  • be a citizen of India or Vietnam
  • have an undergraduate degree that will enable you to gain entry to a postgraduate programme at a UK university
  • have a minimum of two years’ work experience.
