Global Wales through its Study in Wales brand worked with other members of the Cymru Wales brand family and other major welsh organisations as Tîm Cymru to feed into a national effort to mark this achievement.

Global Wales assembled a working group with colleagues from universities and colleges to both feedback the Tîm Cymru developments and to share what participating institutions were planning. In addition, this group were able to collaborate and successfully bid into the Welsh Government Partner Support Fund to create a  series of videos to be shared online and on social media during Wales’ world cup campaign. The aim of the videos was to capture the best of Wales as a nation through the eyes of our Gen Z university and college student populations and share this to both inspire new international audiences as well as build excitement and contagious engagement at home through the unique opportunity that qualifying for the World Cup provides.

Students from universities and colleges from across Wales were featured, including Wrexham Glyndwr University, Cardiff & Vale College, Coleg Menai Llandrillo, Swansea University, Gower College Swansea, University of South Wales, Bangor University, Coleg Gwent, Aberystwyth University, Cardiff University. A diverse array of students were included  from China, Brazil, Iran, India, Germany, Spain, Mexico, Malaysia, USA, Jamaica, Pakistan, Nigeria, Slovakia and Wales. All ten videos can be viewed here.
